You wouldn’t want to be an official in the WWE right now. Injured main-eventers, constipated storylines, Wellness Policy violations that led to suspensions, a former WWE Championship contender with one foot outside the door, Superstars not wanting to work with Chris Jericho because a dangerous amount of partying’s clouding his in-ring ability and now this.
Reports have emerged that a handful of WWE employees will be shown the door at the end of the week, a couple of experienced crew members amongst them.
This comes in the wake of wrestlinginc.com’s report that one of the company’s many strength and conditioning coaches, Matt Wichlinski, was released last week. He has been replaced by a former NFL strength and conditioning coach.
It is unspecified if all the heads on the chopping block belong to WWE Superstars. Following Ryback’s recent open letter which described his discontent and gave us a glimpse of the Amazonian side of the business, it wouldn’t be far-fetched in assuming that his name will be on the list.
Other speculated wrestlers include Jack Swagger and Wade Barrett, but there is a logical contradiction in their case. They are reportedly leaving the WWE after their contracts expire, which isn’t expected to come about for a couple of months.
