Bray Wyatt seems to be the latest WWE superstar bitten by the dreaded “injury bug” that has plagued the roster for months now.
According to tweets from Youtube personality Haydn Fox, Wyatt slipped during a match in Milan, Italy, on Wednesday against Roman Reigns.
The WWE also reported the calf injury on its website later on in the day, which is generally not a good sign.
Fox also gave more information about the nature of the injury. Because the match was stopped, it doesn’t seem likely this was a work or part of the storyline. Wyatt most recently appeared on WWE television in a tag match with Reigns as his partner against members of the League of Nations.
Rumors about Wyatt’s health had been circulating for weeks, but he recently returned to the ring after what was said to be a back injury. He had been mostly held from in-ring action, most notably during an advertised match with Brock Lesnar at WWE’s Roadblock event in March.
If Wyatt’s injury turns out to be serious, it would be a continuation of a streak of injury woes that has taken out then-World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Wyatt Family member Luke Harper, John Cena, Randy Orton, Tyson Kidd, Nikki Bella and Neville, all of whom are still out. Daniel Bryan also suffered a concussion in 2015, the final straw that led to his retirement earlier this year. Cesaro also missed ring time, but he has since returned and will compete with The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at Payback.
