NXT Takeover Dallas only served to fuel rumors that the recent influx of talent from other promotions will continue.
During the show, former NXT champion Bobby Roode and New Japan Pro Wrestling star Kota Ibushi were spotted at ringside during the event, which means they saw title changes in both the women’s and tag team divisions.
Roode was released from TNA in March, not long after reuniting with tag team partner James Storm, who recently left NXT to return to TNA. There has been much speculation that he will make his way to the WWE or NXT, and the NXT Twitter account acknowledged his presence at the event.

Ibushi was one of the top junior heavyweights in NJPW and is a three-time junior heavyweight champion for the promotion. He recently left the company, and his attendance at Friday’s event could indicate his involvement in the Global Cruiserweight Series, set to take place later this year.
The first seven names for the event were announced recently – Zack Sabre Jr. (PWG Champion), Rich Swann (NXT), Tommaso Ciampa (NXT and PWG), Noam Dar (Europe), Johnny Gargano (special deal with NXT), Ho Ho Lun (Japan), and Akira Tozawa (Dragon Gate).
The NXT Twitter account released a picture of Ibushi backstage with Funaki and William Regal.
