For those of you wondering why both Rusev and the Miz got drafted with their respective aides – Lana and Maryse – by their sides, but Brock Lesnar wasn’t announced with Paul Heyman, this may be the reason.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Paul Heyman’s contract with the WWE has expired and talks over a renewal between both the parties still haven’t been concluded.
This is reportedly why Brock Lesnar got snapped up by the Raw brand on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live!, but Paul Heyman’s name was conspicuously left unmentioned, reports Cagesideseats.com.
It is also rumoured that Paul Heyman’s contract may only be extended should the WWE still view Brock Lesnar as a valuable commodity that they want to push, but given that he failed 2 USADA anti-dopings tests in relation with UFC 200 recently, the company may decide to take their foot off the gas on that one.
