Theirs was the highlight of WrestleMania 32, a show-stealing timepod that had us enraptured and will become a part of wrestling lore. Further superlatives are unnecessary when two middle-aged men become the buzzword of wrestling’s biggest show of the year.
But the afterbuzz is a little unsettling. After they belted out one of the best Hell in a Cell matches of all time, Undertaker was heard telling people backstage that he’s wrestled his last match, according to allwrestlingnews.com.
This isn’t the first time the Phenom has said this and what’s more, he’s scheduled to appear on WWE’s traditional tour of the UK. The Deadman was pencilled in to team with the Big Show and face Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, and despite Harper’s injury, the chances of that match happening shouldn’t be affected.
Undertaker is also supposed to have a match on the April 19th episode of SmackDown, though his opponent is as yet unknown. Vince McMahon had put a lot of stock in Undertaker facing John Cena in a legends match at WrestleMania, but Cena’s injury scuppered those plans, and after what we saw, we’re certain none have any regrets. The Chairman is reportedly, still hopeful of the Taker-Cena match happening at WrestleMania 33.
