Hell in A Cell has been advertised thus far as a pay-per-view event featuring three main events inside the steel structure; Roman Reigns vs Rusev for the US Title, Kevin Owens vs Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Title and Sasha Banks vs Charlotte for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.
The word has been that the management has been undecided on which match would go on when, leading to widespread speculation about which match would close out the show and what the positioning of the matches would be.
According to Wrestlingnews.co, Vince McMahon decided earlier today that the Women’s Title match between Sasha Banks and Charlotte would indeed headline the event and see out proceedings at TD Garden in Boston Massachusetts.
Reports emanating all week regarding this issue have so far indicated that Vince McMahon was holding back on pulling the trigger on the women main eventing mainly due to wanting to do more justice in promoting the historical event.
Apart from two sit-down interviews (seen below) with Lita, one could argue that the WWE hasn’t really emphasized suffiently on the gravity of having Sasha and Charlotte square off inside the steel structure and perhaps, even close out the show.
This WWE Raw Women’s Championship bout between Sasha Banks and Charlotte is not only the first time women are having a match inside Hell in a Cell, but also the first time that the Women would be headlining a major PPV.
And considering that the event is taking place in Sasha Banks’ hometown of Boston, it makes all the sense in the world to have them close out the show and, possibly, also have her retain her Women’s Championship against the challenger.
Hell in a Cell promises to be a historic event for the WWE should this piece of news be true.
