Johnny Jeter was known simply as Johnny throughout his time WWE as part of The Spirit Squad. Unlike his fellow members of the group, Johnny's release wasn't announced publicly. The star had been quietly released from his contract sometime before January 2008.
Jeter later revealed that he had left the company on his terms after requesting his release to overcome his addiction to painkillers.
Jeter retired from the business but later returned as part of Chikara's King of the Trio tournament. He teamed with his former Spirit Squad teammates Kenny and Mikey before returning to retirement after their loss.

Jeter could not return to The Spirit Squad's reunion in 2016 due to his job as an IT Audit Manager. The former star also broke his retirement in 2019 to make several appearances for Championship Wrestling from Arizona before returning to his day job as an Internal Auditor.
