WWE Smackdown 26th November 2015 - 5 Points To Note

Ambrose again begins his journey for the IC title.

Reigns made his intentions clear on SmackdownTLC season is here. Many matches indicated what the potential card of the Pay Per View will look like. We, at the moment, have a potential chairs match and a tables match. Also, the main event involved the storyline around the Intercontinental championship. Instead of simply giving Ambrose the title shot because he defeated Owens at Survivor Series, they had him fight it out. Also, Owens was on commentary, that made the main event seem all the more something to watch out for. In the end, we have two really valuable performers embroiled in a feud. Here are the 5 points to note from this week’s Smackdown-

#1 Intercontinental scene

Ambrose again begins his journey for the IC title.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Dean Ambrose, it seems, just like last year will walk into Wrestlemania either fighting for or fighting as the Intercontinental champion.

He won the match between him, Ziggler and Breeze and then had a face off with the champion Kevin Owens. This is great simply because these two get the time to make this championship relevant again.

This is an oft challenge with the IC title. The promising aspect is the fact that both Ambrose and Kevin Owens are fundamentally sound pro wrestlers as they are absolutely great on the microphone and can work a classic wrestling match.

Hopefully, all of these expectations will be met.

#2 A Botch, maybe

Paige was victorious on Smackdown

Paige faced Becky Lynch again in a rematch from RAW.

While Lynch controlled the early goings of the match and Paige initially looked like a child throwing a temper, according to Lawler, this was a match to show off Paige’s aggressive side.

She threw a couple of stiff shots from the knee at Lynch and despite the short length of the match, these two tried to make the most of it. Becky got a bit of a surge towards the end, getting a suplex later, but the end of the match seemed a bit of a botch after Paige tried to use the ropes to win but couldn’t reach it.

It sort of hampered the match since Lynch lost clean.

#3 The US Title scene

What goes around comes back around

Don’t you just miss John Cena after witnessing how badly Alberto Del Rio is booked as the US Champion?

Well, Jack Swagger, Colter’s former ally had a match against Del Rio and it seems this will have a continuation. It should, firstly given the history between the manager and Swagger, and secondly because this was another match that ended via disqualification.

Del Rio hit Swagger with a chair to end the match abruptly. This may be another indication that both of them will have a chairs match at TLC.

#4 TLC

Throwback Thursday for the Dudleys

When the Dudleys music hit the arena, it must have been somewhat nostalgic for many of the team’s fans.

Firstly, they are on their way to a PPV named after something they helped make successful with The Hardys and Edge and Christian. Their eventual walk into the TLC PPV should be something to look forward.

This night they were set to face the Wyatt Family and it looks like these guys will have a tables match at TLC after their match was disqualified into the Dudleys favour after Luke Harper interfered.

#5 Sheamus Promo

Sheamus gave one of his better promos this week

Heel Sheamus is definitely better than babyface Sheamus. The theme song is great and so is his arrogance. I especially liked the overexposed lighting on him when he arrived at the arena.

Also, his promo was so much better than any promo he’s had the chance to give as a heel lately. He called Reigns a ‘walking, talking Adele song’. He even joked about being in the elevator longer than Reigns WWE World Heavyweight championship reign.

Now that Sheamus has more attention than ever on him with his elevated role, it helps that he’s able to give out such promos as a heel. Even if he makes mistakes, it’s hilarious and you can make fun of him because, well, heel.

Other than that the exchange between Reigns and Sheamus wasn’t all that fresh, but it didn’t harm the feud in any way.
