This was the show that was supposed to be Monday Night Raw before the blizzard led to a change of plans. Surely, Smackdown and Raw’s plans had to have been fused to get to this. The one treat was that in a rare instance, Smackdown was live and that meant live reactions and no reactions meshed in to give a different perspective and form a different narrative altogether. Orton and Ambrose weren’t really a part of the show. Yet, here are the five promising developmensts from this weeks’ Live Smackdown
#5 Rusev and Cena face off
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Even though Ryback and Rusev’s feud ended prematurely, it was still a promising feud which had some good moments. Now, Rusev has moved on to face a bigger fish in the sea. John Cena is surely his next opponent. And just like the feud with Ryback, Cena Vs Rusev isn’t about an American facing a Russian but it is about the disregard shown by the new superstar to the biggest superstar in the WWE.
This is the biggest challenge Rusev has had in his very promising career on the main roster so far. Hope this doesn’t turn out the way Wyatt-Cena turned out.
#4 Grand Revelation
Triple H delivered what can be assumed as a damage control, disaster management promo where he put over the biggest wrestling heel in the company right now, Seth Rollins, over while asking the crowd to cut Roman Reigns some slack. It was all here and there and an essentially dividing time between fictional and non-fictional details but eventually Triple H came to his point and that made for an interesting point.
There is a huge announcement that he’s set to make on Raw this coming week. Whatever it is, any grand revelation does lead to soem anticipation.
#3 Seth Rollins is still the best heel
Rollins is actually on a roll. While one of his former Shield partner is in the middle of the most controversial moment of the year and his other brother is not getting much material to work with from creative, Rollins is carving his niche as the future of the company. After delivering great performance followed by greater performances, he made his way to Smackdown with a pop. And he ended his night in typical heel fashion running away from the babyfaces.
#2 Paige gets a title shot
The most over female wrestlers on the roster is getting a title shot at Fast Lane. Even though, this may be a very promising feud, creative needs to write it down well. The Bellas are the best heels in the division right now and when given more time in the ring, they put up some great work. And Paige, being one of the best wrestlers on the roster, needs that sort of match where she’s able to tell a story and come out looking as the wrestler that she is.
#1 The End
Hopefully, HOPEFULLY, WWE is done with Kane vs Danile Bryan.
If there was anything useful that Bryan said about his future in his interview on Raw was that he couldn’t wait to get done with his feud with his former tag team partner. And on Smackdown, he put on a good show as he usually does and he buried kane in a casket and if that doesn’t indicate the end, what will?
Hopefully, Bryan now moves on to some better storyline.
