#3 To provide a solid main event
SmackDown opened up to a great match between Roman Reigns and Shinsuke Nakamura which not only showed how the mid-card scene has evolved for the brand but also proved that Roman Reigns has drastically improved over the past few months.
As the night progressed, we saw the women of SmackDown get a chance to prove themselves and their Champion to go in detail about her new character.
The tag teams of SmackDown battled in a great match which displayed the fun aspect of the Blue brand, and Braun Strowman was once again fed a former Champion who suffered the wrath of 'Monster Among Men'.
What was lacking during the night was a solid main event booking which was unclear until the show began. After Bryan tried to rescue Roman Reigns from Baron Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura, the main event scene became clear.
On a night where the SmackDown Women’s Champion did not compete, and the WWE Champion and his challenger were not present at all, it was good that WWE had these four Superstars to end the night on a high note.
