AJ Styles will defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Jeff Hardy at WWE SmackDown and not at SummerSlam 2020 as was originally believed. The reason for this could be that they do not want the show to run too long but honestly, another reason for the same may be that WWE did not want to overshadow a major segment on WWE SmackDown with other significant events.

So when AJ Styles squares off against Jeff Hardy on this week's episode of WWE SmackDown with the Intercontinental Championship on the line, it makes all the sense in the world for Joseph Parks, his newfound ally, to help him retain the title.
While it is unlikely that the 'Monster Abyss' will step into the ring at any point on WWE SmackDown, it is all too likely that Joseph Parks could be almost a 'manager' for AJ Styles, moving forward.
There is just so much TNA in this big WWE SmackDown Intercontinental Championship match this week.
