Kofi Kingston has been performing for WWE since 2006 and has garnered a plethora of accolades. However, a world championship seemed to elude him. Presently working alongside Big E and Xavier Woods, they collectively form the group known as New Day.

At WWE Elimination Chamber 2019, Kingston received an opportunity to compete for the WWE Championship, replacing an injured Mustafa Ali. The performance he provided was shocking, and fans witness Kingston nearly become WWE Champion. The match was arguably exhilarating to watch.

In the following weeks, Kingston earned a chance to face Bryan again at WWE Fastlane but Vince McMahon replaced him with Kevin Owens. After weeks of shenanigans and multiple qualifying matches, Kingston will face Bryan at WrestleMania 35, (watch the video below).

At WrestleMania 35, Kingston battled for the WWE Championship, in a stellar match. After numerous near pinfalls, Kingston would hit his finisher on Daniel Bryan and capture his first WWE Championship. The moment was arguably one of the greatest in modern history.

On Raw the following night, New Day shockingly turned up and challenged Seth Rollins to a winner takes all championship match. Later that night The Bar would interfere causing a match disqualification. On SmackDown the following night, New Day would seek revenge in a six-man tag team match against The Bar and Drew McIntyre. Regardless of Kingston's future direction, he will be a crucial element for WWE and their plans.
