After a rather strange episode of Monday Night RAW, our focus now shifts on Tuesday Night SmackDown Live. While there might not be much to watch out for in the blue brand, things are still slightly better on Tuesdays than they are on Mondays.
The storyline of Kevin Owens feuding against the New Day in itself is a great thing going on. The layering behind the enmity was well built and with another two episodes on SmackDown Live to go before Money in the Bank, a lot more could be added to it.
Apart from that, however, nothing that would bring the intrigue out of the fans is happening. There is a feud between Elias and Roman Reigns that just doesn’t seem to have any meat in it.
And then, of course, we have the same ol’ storyline of Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair looking to tear each other apart. However, we can hope that the next episode could add a new and intriguing dimension to the existing story arcs.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
So without further ado, here are 5 major things that could happen tonight…
#5 More Becky and Charlotte
I have repeatedly written about the problems surrounding the Women’s Division right now. At this point in time, everything about the Women’s Division is surrounding one Superstar: Becky Lynch.
And then, in her wake follows another very common name: Charlotte Flair. It seems as though WWE have only two women Superstars in the roster while the rest of them are just there as fillers.
Bayley has been incorporated a bit in the recent weeks but I don’t expect her to play a significant role at least until after the Money in the Bank PPV.
So, there will be a few more brawls between the Man and the Queen for now.
#4 RAW stars to invade
This has already almost been confirmed by Vince McMahon when he spewed out his “genius” idea of having a Wild Card rule where three (later changed to four) WWE Superstars from either brand can appear on the brand where they are not enlisted, like what Elias, Roman Reigns, Kofi Kingston, Daniel Bryan and Lars Sullivan did on RAW last night.
Since no less than five SmackDown superstars made it to RAW, it won’t be shocking to see a number of RAW Superstars head to SmackDown Live.
The likeliest of RAW Superstars to go to SmackDown Live tonight is the Miz. When Shane McMahon attacked Roman Reigns on RAW, he came running down with a chair in his hand to attack the Best in the World.
So it is likely that he makes it to the blue brand tonight. Also, Drew McIntyre could also come to SmackDown to ambush Roman Reigns again.
In short, anything could happen.
#3 Daniel Bryan included in the MITB match
Last night on RAW, Daniel Bryan made his first TV appearance for the WWE after his match at WrestleMania, where he lost the WWE Championship to Kofi Kingston.
Even though it was announced that Championship rematches won’t happen anymore, Vince McMahon arranged for Kofi Kingston to defend his WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan on RAW.
And while Kingston won the match against the Planet’s Champion, don’t expect it to be the end of the line for the latter. In fact, on SmackDown Live, it won’t be shocking to see Daniel Bryan being included in the Money in the Bank PPV match for the WWE Championship.
A Triple Threat Match for the Championship between Kingston, Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan would not be a bad thing because Kingston is the hottest thing in WWE right now and squaring him up against two great heels would just increase the hype.
#2 Aleister Black promo
Aleister Black is the next big thing in the WWE – and if it doesn’t turn out to be that way, then it would be a real shame. The Dutch Destroyer hasn’t been performing in the ring but he is getting promo time.
His deep voice and mystical character gives him an Undertaker/Bray Wyatt feel to him. Black could be his own man and dominate the WWE for a long time to come if they play it right – and another deeply psychological promo would help.
#1 Roman Reigns assaulted
Roman Reigns was all set to win his match against Drew McIntyre on RAW last night before he was assaulted by Elias and Shane McMahon. After that, McIntyre knocked him out with a Claymore Kick.
The same thing could happen on SmackDown Live but this time, McIntyre could be the one interrupting his match to give him an absolute mauling while also keeping their WrestleMania feud alive.
