Was AJ Styles able to become a 2-time WWE Champion? Was Becky Lynch able to get her rightful payoff? Find out what happened on this eventful episode of SmackDown Live!
A war of words kicks off SmackDown Live

Cody Rhodes' uncle is a WWE Hall of Famer. More details HERE.
Shane McMahon condemned Kurt Angle & Stephanie McMahon for what happened to Daniel Bryan on RAW last week with Kane. Shane then introduced The New Day, who he was very proud of.
Not that it's of much relevance, but the editing of this segment was quite badly done and you could even spot the piped in cheers from a mile away.
Anyway, Kofi said that Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose losing the RAW Tag Team Titles wasn't their intention, but those were the consequences of Under Siege. They started doing their usual schtick and Shane even began shaking his hips with them, only to be interrupted by Kevin Owens and a bubbly Sami Zayn.
Kevin Owens said that "that" was the most painful thing he had to watch(which is kind of true). Sami said that he "hated" to be the one to break it to Shane, but he's not cool whatsoever and shouldn't dance. The New Day mocked Zayn back for his bubbly entrance.
Kevin Owens said that Shane was still mad about losing to him at Hell In A Cell and Sami Zayn said that he didn't fit into the Shane McMahon propaganda regime. They start arguing about not being on the Survivor Series team.
New Day, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn started getting into a back and forth banter about Zayn looking like a 1930s paperboy and Owens never visiting a gym, among other things.
Shane McMahon would then go on to berate Owens & Zayn before setting up a match between Zayn and Kofi Kingston, which was up next!
Sami Zayn(w/ Kevin Owens) vs Kofi Kingston(w/ Big E & Xavier Woods)

The two started off with some nice chain wrestling. Kofi landed on his feet after Zayn flipped him over in a nice sequence. He twerked and rubbed it on Sami Zayn(not literally).
Kofi hit an amazingly unique springboard followed by an SOS, which only landed a 2-count. He attempted a trouble in paradise but Zayn evaded it and hit the blue thunder bomb. As we all know, that's never gotten the 3-count on anyone.
Kofi managed to get a lucky pin onto Sami Zayn for the win.

Right after the match, Owens attacked Zayn and fled as Woods & Big E came to the aid of their partner.
Backstage, Renee Young interviewed Jinder Mahal, who said that AJ Styles was his "appetizer" and Brock Lesnar was his "entrée". Lame promo.
Rusev vs Randy Orton - If Rusev wins, he qualifies for Survivor Series

Aiden English sang the Rusev Day intro before Rusev came out. What an introduction!
The match started off quick when Rusev kicked the back of Randy's head. The match quickly cut to commercial break, but after the break, the crowd was chanting "Rusev Day!"
The match just ended abruptly with an RKO Outta Nowhere. There's still an open spot on the team!

Backstage, James Ellsworth was outside the women's locker room for Carmella. However, Becky came out and Ellsworth began berating her about how men are superior to women and that they were in "Manchester" and not "Womanchester". He came across as trying too hard, but Becky said that his statements were "ballsy", but called it a pity that he didn't have any.
Becky Lynch vs James Ellsworth

Ellsworth started off with some push-ups while the crowd was chanting "Becky's gonna kill you". Ellsworth got little offence on Becky before The Irish Lass Kicker began dominating him left and right.
She even threw him out of the ring. He went back in the ring and shoved her twice outside the ring. He was too distracted to realise that Becky was waiting for a top turnbuckle dropkick.
Ellsworth tried to escape but the women around the ring(Charlotte, Lana, Tamina and Naomi) sent him right back in. He begged Becky for forgiveness, kissing her hands and hugging her. Becky then got him down to the dis-arm-her(or him) for the submission win.

After the match, Carmella confronted Becky Lynch in the ring and they seemed ready to go at it. Instead, she super-kicked Ellsworth and walked away.
Backstage, Charlotte was talking to Shane McMahon. Natalya came in and said she "accepted" without hearing anything. She said she'd beat Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series and take Charlotte's spot on the SmackDown Women's team.
Charlotte called her delusional and Shane told Nattie that her cheating ways at Hell In A Cell, so he made a Women's title match for next week between Charlotte and Natalya. The winner would be facing Alexa Bliss at Survivor Series.
The Usos(c) vs Gable & Benjamin - SmackDown Tag Team Championship match

The Usos came out after the challengers and cut a promo with the the theme "Who's this, Uce?". They called the challengers their next victim and welcomed them to the Uso penitentiary. They started the attack on the challengers before the match even started.
The legal Shelton Benjamin cleared The Usos from the ring and the challengers were playing the clear heels. Gable went and attacked Jey Uso's knee from underneath.
While Benjamin was waiting outside the ring, Jey Uso was sitting against the commentary table, not even making an effort to come in. The match ended in count-out, but from the look of things, it's a work.
Gable & Benjamin defeated The Usos by count-out
Jinder Mahal(c) vs AJ Styles - WWE Championship match

The Singh Brothers mocked Paul Heyman as usual when they introduced the WWE Champion Jinder Mahal.
Jinder Mahal showed off his power and physique when taunting AJ Styles. Push came to shove at the beginning when he took down the former WWE Champion. The crowd was firmly behind AJ Styles.
It was Jinder who showed further display of power when he flung Styles out of the ring. Back inside, AJ used his technique to send Mahal out of the ring, but as he jumped onto the apron, The Maharaja pulled his leg from underneath face first.
The crowd was rooting for AJ Styles despite him getting overpowered. Styles quickened the pace with a series of strikes followed by a modified shining wizard. Jinder's suplex was countered into the ushigoroshi.
When the champion went to the top rope, AJ caught him and smashed him down. He put a calf crusher, but Jinder slammed his head and broke it up. Styles went for another calf crusher but Mahal was in arms distance of the rope.
Jinder Mahal then struck AJ down with a nasty lariat. Jinder grabbed AJ by the ears and planted AJ on the top turnbuckles. AJ escaped and knocked him out of the ring. He then jumped over the rope and hit a forearm to the champion.
He then landed a 450 splash on Mahal but TheSingh Brothers pulled Jinder from the ring. Styles went after Samir Singh and took him out like he was a prey. He then assaulted Sunil and cleared The Singh Brothers. Back in the ring, Jinder landed the Khallas and it looked to b over, but he was beside the rope and used his leg for the save. The crowd burst into "Yes" chants.
Jinder then looked to be going to the Khallas from the top turnbuckle. AJ used the top rope to his advantage and stunned him. AJ then set up Phenomenal Forearm position. He landed the forearm and ended the reign of the Maharaja. AJ Styles is a TWO-TIME WWE CHAMPION.
