WWE Smackdown was at Greensboro, North Carolina this week for their latest edition of Smackdown. It was an important follow-up show as the WWE universe was kept in the dark about Daniel Bryan’s condition and how the WWE would build its road to its upcoming Payback pay-per-view.
Here are the results from last night’s show.
John Cena kicks off proceedings
John Cena opened the show as he entered the ring and announced that he accepts Bray Wyatt’s challenge for The Last Man Standing match. Cena, then challenged from his end for a match against any member of the Wyatt Family and gave Bray the power to choose his opponent.
Bray Wyatt appeared on the giant screen along with his disciples and thanked Cena for helping him to find the cure for his own plague. The Evil Preacher followed up his words by singing a new scarier version of “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands,” with the word ‘burn.’
Bo Dallas to appear on next Friday Night
Bo Dallas will debut on next Friday Night Smackdown as his promo was shown to the WWE universe.
The Usos vs Cody Rhodes and Goldust
Cody Rhodes and Goldust squared off against The Usos in a non-title match. Coming from the back of a crucial win on Raw, The Rhodes brothers were looking to build some momentum and prepare themselves for a shot at the title. But after ending their loosing run on last Monday, they were put into the backfoot one again as they were defeated by The Usos after Jimmy delivered a splash on Cody off the top rope.
Winner : The Usos
El Torito vs Heath Slater
Last week El Torito’s team reigned supreme over Hornswoggle and 3MB in a six-man tag team match after the pint-sized bull pinned Heath Slater. This week was no different in terms of result as El Torito emerged victorious over Slater once again after an interference from Hornswoggle went wrong and Slater received a bull sault.
Winner : El Torito
Nikki Bella vs Natalya
Nikki Bella and Natalya were up against each other in a Divas match with fellow ‘Total Diva’ star Eva Marie as the guest referee. Natalya was looking to continue her winning run against Nikki from Raw but failed as her surfboard submission move was countered by Nikki as she was trying to pin her.
Winner : Nikki Bella
Dolph Ziggler vs Batista
Prior to the match, Dolph Ziggler mentioned in a backstage segment that Batista was the weak link of Evolution. The Animal and Ziggler contested a one-on-one match that ended with Ziggler picking up a win via disqualification after Batista delivered a low blow to The Showoff infront on the official. The punishment did not end there as The Animal unleashed his rage over Ziggler hitting him with a Batista Bomb before assaulting him at ringside.
Winner : Dolph Ziggler via DQ
Sheamus vs Titus O’Neil
Before the match started, Titus O’neil made fun of Sheamus’s skin colour and how he was a US Chamapion despite being a non-American. But the fun ended instantly after the bell rang as The Celtic Warrior delivered a Brogue Kick ending the match there itself.
Winner : Sheamus
Santino Marella vs Damien Sandow
Damien Sandow offered to face any opponent by issuing an open challenge to the locker room. His challenge was accepted by Santino Marella who with Emma at his ringside, defeated Sandow with The Cobra move. The match ended and a frustrated Sandow talked about how he was being held back before the sound on the microphone turned off and he walked out with hands behind his back.
Winner : Santino Marella

R Truth came out to a big pop as he was about to face Paul Heyman’s new ‘ real truth’ client Antonio Cesaro. Cesaro ended the short lived match by executing a combined move of uppercut/Neutralizer.
Winner : Cesaro
John Cena vs Eric Rowan
Eric Rowan served as Bray Wyatt’s chosen soldier to face John Cena in the main event match of the night. The battle was a hard-fought contest and it looked like there would be another 3-on-1 assault by the Wyatts on the leader of the Cenation. But The Usos came to Cena’s rescue and evened the odds and neutralized the interference from Luke Harper.
Cena triumphed over Rowan with an Attitude Adjustment after which Bray Wyatt creepily stared at the 11-time World Champion from outside the ring.
Winner : John Cena
