As the fans watched with bated breath, Vince McMahon made his announcement regarding the biggest acquisition in the history of SmackDown Live. To the horror of the live crowd, it turned out to be Elias! The guitar-clad villain didn't get to slam the Montreal crowd for long though, as Roman Reigns made his way to the ring to a chorus of loud cheers!
Reigns immediately hit Elias with a thunderous Superman Punch. He followed it up with hitting the same on the boss! Roman Reigns stopped midway as he was about to leave, coming back for a Spear on Elias.
WWE did the right thing by sending Reigns to SmackDown here. There was no way he wouldn't have been booed on Raw, if he had faced off against Rollins for the Universal Title. It's time for Reigns to stay away from the spotlight for a while and work on becoming a genuine babyface again, like he used to be as a part of The Shield.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
