Many people would argue that the WWE women's division is currently the strongest and the deepest it has ever been, including none other than The Undertaker. The Stamford-based company's current female roster arguably has the biggest pool of top singles stars in its history, but the rest of it is also incredibly impressive.

Superstars such as Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Asuka have dominated the main event scene for years, leaving the rest of the performers starving for gold. This has made fans yearn for a women's mid-card title to help showcase the talents of the rest of the women's division. With NXT introducing a Women's North American Championship, it is worth exploring how the main roster could emulate this on both RAW and SmackDown.

With that in mind, let's look at four WWE SmackDown Superstars who would benefit from a Women's United States Championship.

#4. A Women's United States Championship would benefit multiple stars in male-dominated factions on WWE SmackDown

A Women's United States Title would allow these stars to establish themselves as singles competitors.
A Women's United States Title would allow these stars to establish themselves as singles competitors.

One of the hallmarks of Triple H's time in charge of WWE has been the widespread proliferation of factions throughout the product. The Game and his creative team have used groups as a vehicle to give more superstars on-screen time, help them get over with fans easily, and allow them to cover up each other's flaws.

Most of the stables formed in this time have followed a similar blueprint: one male singles star, a male tag team, and a female superstar. The female members of these collectives have often found their prospects limited, stunting their in-ring opportunities since they are not top stars in their division.

A Women's United States Championship would do wonders for superstars such as Mia Yim, B-Fab, and Elektra Lopez, helping them carve out a niche beyond their respective groups.

#3. Jade Cargill could replicate her AEW TBS Championship success with the WWE Women's United States Championship

Jade Cargill was the inaugural AEW TBS Champion. The current WWE Women's Tag Team Champion helped establish the Jacksonville-based promotion's mid-card women's title with an epic 508-day reign. Her title run and 60-match unbeaten streak are both records in the Tony Khan-led company and helped to establish both the title and Cargill as industry mainstays.

WWE could replicate Jade's success in AEW by making her the inaugural Women's United States Champion. This would allow her to build momentum by dominating the lower card before eventually stepping up to the big guns. It would also be a great vote of confidence in her abilities to put her in such a historic position in the title's history.

Jade Cargill is made to be a top champion, but a mid-card title run on the way there would be great for her.

#2. Top WWE SmackDown Superstars Bianca Belair, Bayley, and Naomi would benefit from a Women's United States Title

One of the biggest criticisms of WWE's booking of its women's division has been the over-reliance on a small core of top stars. Certain fans feel like the top titles are always making a circuit between Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, and Asuka, giving other women little chance of rising to the top.

This dominance from the top superstars has partly been due to a lack of depth in the singles division to keep them engaged in compelling programs beyond world title feuds. The only options have been going to NXT or the tag team division to displace native talent, making it hard for fans to invest in these storylines.

A Women's United States Championship would help these top attractions seamlessly slot up and down the card without disrupting other divisions, allowing them to escape fan fatigue as well. Perhaps most importantly, it would provide an opportunity for them to help elevate lower-card talent to the top more easily, with a coveted prize involved.

#1. Chelsea Green would be perfect for a Women's United States Championship on WWE SmackDown

Despite not being a top star in the WWE women's division, Chelsea Green is one of the most popular competitors in the entire company. Green's ability to be entertaining in anything from a squash match or tag team title reign to a main event in NXT makes her one of the most valuable assets in the division. The Hot Mess has proven herself multiple times, and will undoubtedly rise to the top soon.

Should a Women's United States Championship be introduced on SmackDown, it would be the perfect vehicle to elevate her into a main event-caliber performer. A reign infused with Chelsea Green's signature over-the-top charisma could do wonders for both her and the title as Gunther and the Intercontinental Championship did for each other, albeit with wildly different execution.

It is hard to think of a better fit for a potential mid-card accolade on the blue brand than the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.
