The long-standing personal rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre is set to culminate inside Hell in a Cell at WWE Bad Blood. Both Punk and McIntyre hold one victory each, at Bash in Berlin and SummerSlam respectively.
During the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, CM Punk returned and spoke for the first time since the match was made official. Punk delivered a passionate promo directed at McIntyre, which suggests that WWE might be moving away from its family-friendly programming to deliver a more violent match at Bad Blood.
In his promo, Punk declared that he was going to make McIntyre bleed and even threatened to "kill him" if his opponent didn’t do the same. This suggests that WWE may be ready to break away from its PG era, which has defined the company since 2008.
Given the intense animosity between McIntyre and Punk, a brutal, violent match appears to be the only way this feud can end. It may also serve as a small preview of what's to come, especially with RAW transitioning to Netflix at the start of 2025.
WWE Superstar wants to end CM Punk's career
The feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre has arguably been the best rivalry of 2024, with both stars performing at the top of their game. Their intense rivalry is set to culminate at Bad Blood inside Hell in a Cell.
During a recent AMA on Reddit, McIntyre, who is making his Hollywood debut in Dave Bautista's film The Killers Game, was asked if he would consider pursuing more movie roles in the future.
The Scottish Warrior responded that his current focus was on becoming a champion and ending CM Punk's career for good. However, he did mention that he would be open to doing more films if the right offer came along.
"I had a great experience but my focus is WWE and becoming Champion and ending CM Punk’s career for good. If the right offer arises, who knows… It would be cool to do both at the same time whilst in my prime…," McIntyre wrote.
It will be interesting to see which of these stars will emerge victorious at Bad Blood.
