Chapter 2: Snake Tales
The backstage was full of shenanigans in the late 1980s. And, when we say everyone, it includes Jake "the Snake" Roberts and his Snake Tales.
The WWE Hall of Famer recollected how Vince McMahon wanted everyone an hour before the show. Jake had no issues if his match was kicked off the show or it was the subsequent match.
A WWE Hall of Famer isn't a John Cena fan. More details HERE
However, if he was in the main event, he would become frustrated as it meant he had to be bored for more than two and a half hours. To pass his time, he would trouble the wrestlers looking for a shower.
So, you know I come in the building, and the first thing which I do is put the snake out of the bag and put it in the shower. And that was kind of my rib because I want to share a misery. I would put the snake in the shower and in that way, nobody else could have a shower because...most guys don't want to go anywhere near the snake and all that stuff.*
His tale of disturbing other fellow wrestlers didn't end there as he recollected how he put the snake in a small janitor's closet in an event in Columbus.
Well, in Columbus, there was no locker room but there was a janitor's closet. Tiny little janitor's closet, and they went in there to get dressed. I put the snake in there with them and turned off the lights. And, they beat the crap out of each other. Because, they figured one of us is going to get bit. So, the guy is dying for me kicking his ass is going to get bit. It was pretty interesting.*
