WWE SummerSlam 2019: 10 last-minute predictions

#4 Goldberg vs. Dolph Ziggler

Goldberg legitimately knocked himself out midway through his defeat against The Undertaker at Super ShowDown in June. The match went down as one of the worst in recent memory, which is presumably why the WCW legend is keen to make amends by competing in a rare match at SummerSlam.

Now, although there is plenty of intrigue heading into the encounter, the one downside to this rivalry is that everything has been very predictable so far.

As soon as Dolph Ziggler began to repeatedly aim digs at Goldberg, it was obvious that it would lead to a match. As soon as The Miz was announced as Ziggler’s opponent, it was obvious that it was a ruse. As soon as Shawn Michaels and The Miz confronted Ziggler on the latest episode of Raw, it was obvious that Goldberg would return at the end of the show.

The next obvious step in this storyline would be for Goldberg to dismantle “The Showoff” in a two-minute match, but who really gains anything from a widely criticised 52-year-old defeating a full-time WWE Superstar who is still in his prime?

This could prove to be wildly inaccurate, but let’s go with Ziggler!
