Ali had been on a roll since making his debut on the main roster, but unfortunately, his run came to a halt when he was injured by Randy Orton back in February this year. However, Ali is really passionate about wrestling. He looks better than ever since returning to the ring.

From the past couple of weeks, Ali has been featured in backstage promos where he's seen asking for an opportunity to prove himself. It looks like that the opportunity Ali needs is not far away.

Ali faced Shinsuke Nakamura in an impromptu match at WWE SmackVille this past Saturday night in Nashville, where Ali took the Intercontinental Champion to the limit, but unfortunately, Nakamura was the last man standing in the end. However, this feud is far from over.

Ali faced Nakamura in a rematch this past Tuesday night on SmackDown, where he defeated the champion by a roll-up.

Ali's win has earned him a shot at the Intercontinental Championship in the future. The future doesn't look far, and it may be as near as SummerSlam 2019.
