Given the recent run of Randy Orton on WWE RAW, it shouldn’t be a huge surprise to see him walk out SummerSlam with the WW Champion. While Drew McIntyre has been exceptional as a fighting champion on WWE RAW, Orton’s recent adaptation of the ‘Legend Killer’ gimmick on the Red brand is one title reign from being iconic.

While the result isn’t a big surprise, it’s the manner in which he could win the title. Several backstage reports suggest that Vince McMahon wants WWE Superstar Edge to return and form a temporary alliance with Orton. Similar to how Sami Zayn managed Shinsuke Nakamura while being injured, Edge is expected to work closely with Orton until WrestleMania – when Edge is originally slated to make his in-ring return.

It appears that WWE will have Edge attack Drew McIntyre when the official isn’t looking and pull off a huge swerve to ensure Randy Orton’s victory without making Drew McIntyre look weak at SummerSlam. Other reports also suggest that this series of events will be pulled off by none other than Ric Flair.
