This feud has been rumored for weeks, and after Matt Riddle's Intercontinental Championship match against AJ Styles on SmackDown, Baron Corbin attacked the main roster newcomer. The two are likely to collide at SummerSlam.

For Riddle, an angle with a hated heel like Corbin would not be the worst thing in the world. The 2019 King of the Ring winner is great at generating heat and is pretty effective in his role. Riddle, a former indy wrestling star, is a great natural foil for him.

The two even have some history, dating back to Survivor Series. Corbin eliminated Riddle from the RAW vs. SmackDown vs. NXT Traditional Survivor Series Match, as well as this year's Royal Rumble Match.

So, at SummerSlam, Matt Riddle could finally avenge all of his relative misfortune on the big stage at the hands of Baron Corbin. He will likely earn a dominant victory, which would make him look strong for future stories. He could possibly revisit the IC Title scenario with AJ Styles after SummerSlam.
