Speaking of AJ Styles and the Intercontinental Championship, the Phenomenal One needs a challenger for SummerSlam. It likely won't be Daniel Bryan, who is set to welcome his second child soon and will probably take some time off. Drew Gulak was defeated pretty convincingly on SmackDown as well.

One Superstar who would make tremendous sense is Jeff Hardy. He is set to finish up his rivalry with Sheamus this coming SmackDown, in a Bar Fight. The Charismatic Enigma will likely win and set off on a much better storyline for SummerSlam, possibly one for the Intercontinental Title.

Hardy would ride the wave of momentum, and it makes logical sense for him to target Styles' Championship. He was never eliminated from the IC Title tournament, as Sheamus set him up in the hit-and-run angle involving Elias.

So, as a result of finally vanquishing the Celtic Warrior, Jeff Hardy could challenge AJ Styles for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. The two haven't met in a WWE ring before, making this match all the more exciting.
