The RAW Women's Championship picture heading into SummerSlam initially had potential. Nikki A.S.H. cashing in her Money in the Bank contract was a feel-good moment, but her reign has turned somewhat sour since then. Her title defense against Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley does not feel as exciting as it should be.

The buildup to this triple threat match was hampered by a lack of creativity, with all three women constantly facing each other on RAW. Nikki lost separate matches to both challengers, and while it makes her an underdog going in, the champion should not look so weak.

The feud between Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal had a lot of potential. WWE could have used their history in 3MB and subsequent redemption stories, but instead went in a different direction. It is now essentially McIntyre's sword against Mahal's goons - a pretty mediocre premise for the most part.

The Scottish Warrior defeated Shanky and Veer to bar them from ringside at SummerSlam, while he can bring his sword. Despite the elements involved, this feud lacks a certain fire. It's nice to see Jinder Mahal get the spotlight as a truly hated heel, but Drew McIntyre could certainly do better than this.
