WWE Super ShowDown: 5 Disappointments on the way to the Saudi Arabia Event 

The next marquee event on WWE's calendar is Super ShowDown, which is set to take place in Saudi Arabia. 2018 saw two monstrous PPVs take place in the Middle East and Vince McMahon and company are back again to give us all a moment of glee.

WWE have been trying to expand their horizons and it won't be wrong to say that they've been quite successful till now. But things haven't been entirely mesmerizing in the buildup to Super ShowDown and the road to Saudi Arabia event has yielded some disappointments.

With AEW's rise, the time is enormously crucial for Vince McMahon and company because the word on the block is that AEW has the credentials to compete with WWE, something which hasn't been heard for a long time.

WWE's mega event in Saudi Arabia might get the spotlight back on Vince McMahon's billion-dollar organisation but it hasn't been all spring for the company. Here we list down 5 major disappointments heading on to WWE's Saudi Arabia event:

#5 No singles bout for Drew McIntyre

In the latest WWE NEWS, WWE enthusiasts are clueless as to what future plans the company holds for Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Psychopath made a promising return in 2018 as he took the main scene by storm thanks to his prominent transformation, which left the WWE Universe in awe.

McIntyre showed signs of reaching the top and prior to WrestleMania 35, it looked like the company has something special for McIntyre. But things haven't remotely been close to spectacular for Drew as the Post-Mania period has been pretty much dull for him.

Money in the Bank was disappointing courtesy of his failed attempt at winning the ladder match, but with no singles bout scheduled for him at Super Show Down, this may be a disastrous decision on WWE Creative’s part.

Drew is being used as Shane’s henchman in his on-going feud with Roman Reigns, which is set to culminate in Saudi Arabia.

#4 Brock’s cash-in moment is almost certain

Super ShowDown is undoubtedly a major event and the company, will go to any limits in order to make it a success. Last year we saw WWE host 2 enormous PPVs in the Middle East, and things promise to be no different this time around.

With that being said, many major stars are scheduled to appear at the blockbuster PPV but WWE are yet to announce Lesnar's participation.

Brock Lesnar is a major attraction in any part of the world and by not scheduling a singles bout for him, the company has made it clear that Brock Lesnar will cash in at Super ShowDown.

Vince McMahon would never allow Brock's absence from such a gigantic event thus pointing to Lesnar's involvement is briefcase moment. The scenes will be extraordinary but by making it so evident, WWE has taken away the excitement or shall we say the curiosity around the MITB contract.

#3 Lack of storyline in Triple H vs Randy Orton

Triple H and Randy Orton are two legendary superstars who have a plethora of achievements to their names. The two former stablemates share a long history and it is a bit appalling to witness this matchup take place without any buildup or any significant storyline.

Triple H and Randy Orton have delivered some classic bouts together and the very reason why their matches became historic were the stories associated with it. From Triple H’s betrayal of Orton back in 2004 to Randy's assault on McMahon family in 2009, every time these 2 veterans clashed, it was for a reason!

But things are strictly professional this time around as the 2 former Evolution members are set to reignite some old memories in the Middle East where they are scheduled to face each at Super Showdown.

#2 No Undertaker-Goldberg face-off

The biggest match set to take place at Super Showdown 2019 is between The Undertaker and Goldberg. 2 iconic superstars who have faced many superstars in their respective careers but never really crossed paths. The only time these 2 veterans locked horns was at Royal Rumble 2017, and ever since that point, WWE enthusiasts have been asking why the company never made this match happen.

Men like Goldberg and The Undertaker belong to the world-class bracket, and it's shame that we never got to see these 2 collide in their prime. While the veterans are far away from their prime now, it still doesn't take away the fact that this iconic bout is set to take place in Saudi Arabia come 7th June.

While WWE has done a brilliant job in bringing these 2 legends back for the PPV in Saudi Arabia, they seem to have missed a trick by not having a face-off prior to the match. A stare between the two will be enough to swoop the WWE Universe off their feet but for some reason it hasn't happened yet!

Maybe the two will have a moment in the final week before Super ShowDown, but the thing is that it should've been done way before!

#1 Guaranteed absence of major superstars at the PPV

Building up to the extravaganza in Saudi Arabia, ardent followers of WWE have had a tough time in swallowing the fact that some of the major WWE superstars won't be flying to the Middle East for the Wrestling promotion's gigantic PPV.

Superstars like Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, and Sami Zayn are set to miss the event due to their concern with the location but the major absentee will surely be John Cena. The Leader of Cenation will be dearly missed by the Wrestling Fanatics in the Middle East as he has decided to stay back.

The absence of these superstars is a major disappointment simply because this somehow degrades the quality of the show, something which is definitely not best for business!

With the introduction of AEW to the main scene, WWE will travel to Saudi Arabia with a mission to prove their dominance in the world of sports entertainment and it may be a little difficult to accomplish without these proven talents.
