WWE superstar Curtis Axel returns to action in dark match

Curtis Axel returned to action in a dark match with Kofi Kingston between Main event and Smackdown tapings, losing to Kingston. WWE superstar Kofi Kingston and the WWE absentee for some time Curtis Axel battled each other after WWE Main Event.

John Layfield (aka John Bradshaw Layfield or JBL) has collaborated with Michael Cole and Byron Saxton as part of the commentary team for WWE Main Event. It has not been confirmed as yet whether it is a permanent change, although Cole joked that JBL’s appearance at Main Event was so that he could get a week off.

WWE will make a return to the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas for a live event on January 18th.
