The traditional WWE formula has always been for the heels to have the upper hand when it comes to the numbers game. But The New Day has always had the extra member (or members when the heel doesn't have a sidekick). And this is just psychology in reverse, in the pro wrestling sense.
While this could have been swept during the rug back when the trio was in the tag team division, it is all too evident these days. When Kofi Kingston is the Champion, and there are two other gentlemen by the ring, throwing pancakes and shaking their hips, it is quite odd. And not just because they're throwing pancakes and shaking their hips.
All of this makes me think that The New Day's days as a unit may be numbered for now. For KofiMania to succeed, the New Day must split as a unit.
