Daniel Bryan... a Paul Heyman guy
The decision to have Daniel Bryan defeat AJ Styles for the WWE title on this week's SmackDown Live was one of the biggest surprises of 2018.
What made Bryan's title victory even more surprising, though, was the fact that the former SmackDown GM also turned heel to win the belt.
A former WWE writer just went after JBL for his comments HERE
There are a number of potential reasons why the WWE made this decision, with the idea that they didn't want to book AJ Styles to lose to Brock Lesnar two years in a row being one of the most popular.
One other option that has been suggested by some people, is that Daniel Bryan and Paul Heyman are now working in cahoots with one another.
If that is the case, then we could see Paul Heyman finally turn on his client, just as he did with The Big Show at Survivor Series sixteen years ago.
WWE having Bryan win would certainly be a bold choice, but it would supply the night with a massive shock and would establish Daniel Bryan as the cleverest heel in the business. Of course, there is always the option of an enraged Braun Strowman coming after Lesnar for revenge and helping Bryan on the way to the biggest win of his career as well.
