Adam Cole made his debut a few years ago, but managed to win the NXT Championship to become an NXT Triple Crown Champion at NXT Takeover: XXV when he defeated Johnny Gargano. Since then, he has retained that championship against Johnny Gargano, NXT Breakout Tournament winner Jordan Myles, and Matt Riddle. He is now in a rivalry with Tommaso Ciampa.

Tommaso Ciampa desperately wants to win the NXT Championship back, but Adam Cole is willing to do whatever it takes to keep the championship around his shoulder. He is set to team up with his Undisputed Era stable mates against Tommaso Ciampa, Matt Riddle, Dominik Dijakovic, and an unknown partner.
Adam Cole has been a large part of the NXT invasion, as he already defended his championship against both Daniel Bryan and Seth Rollins. It does not look like there will be a match between the three world champions, so Cole will likely be a part of this match instead.
