WWE: Tag Team Reunions of 2018

There's nothing like a re-union of a tag team!
There's nothing like a re-union of a tag team!

WWE has witnessed a lot of heel turns, championship changes, legends returning and new PPVs being introduced. But some of WWE's better rated episodes and segments have involved the reunion of a few tag-teams whom we never thought would be seen together again.

These nostalgic moments are what draws the audience and gets more involved with the story telling. Here we take a look at the tag-team reunions that did take place this year.

#1 Team Hell No

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Daniel Bryan received the best news he possibly could have got earlier in the year when he was medically cleared to compete again inside the WWE ring. Dream matches were being fantasized for Bryan but none could have seen the reuniting of the highly successful Team Hell No.

'The Leader of the Yes Movement', Daniel Bryan, had to make due with the likes of Big Cass and Samoa Joe upon his arrival and seemed to be going nowhere. That was until he fell into the radar of the Bludgeon Brothers.

On the June. 27 2018 episode of Smackdown, Bryan was subjected to a beatdown from Luke Harper and Erick Rowan which didn't seem to be stop until a returning Kane cleared the ring - much to the disbelief of Daniel Bryan.

The duo hugged it out signalling a reunion and a throwback to their championship reign in 2013. They were on-screen for a few funny segments as well on Smackdown Live with them serving as a teaser for future development.

Team Hell No went on to face the Bludgeon Brothers at Extreme Rules albeit in a handicap match, with Kane getting beatdown beforehand by the then-Smackdown Tag Team Champions.

Even though it lasted for quite a short time, Bryan was able to catapult himself towards bigger feuds with long-time rival the Miz and AJ Styles, with him even winning the WWE Championship. The reunion of Team Hell No was meant to push Daniel Bryan and it sure did work for Bryan, who has the WWE Championship around his waist as of now.

#2 D-Generation X

The 25th anniversary of Monday Night Raw was a spectacle with the show coming live from two venues: the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn and the Manhattan Centre. Even though the episode received negative reviews, there was a particular segment which truly rocked the Manhattan Centre.

It involved the reunion of arguably the most controversial stable of all time, D-Generation-X. It seemed like everyone had received an invitation, with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The New Age Outlaws, X-Pac and even Razor Ramon exchanging "Too Sweet's" with the trio of Finn Balor and the Good Brothers before being interrupted by the Revival.

From there on, it only went downwards for the Revival with them losing to Gallows and Anderson during the aftermath of the segment. It was great to have all of DX back for a special moment in WWE history and would be remembered for a very long time.

#3 Brothers of Destruction

Triple H and the Undertaker were intially booked to face against each other for one last time at WWE Super Show-Down in Australia. Whilst this storyline involved the Undertaker playing mind games with WWE Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels, Michaes stayed ringside for his pal Triple H, leaving the Undertaker in 2-on-1 predicament, but speak of the devil and he shall arrive!

To even up the odds, we witnessed another reunion with the Undertaker's brother Kane at the MCG. After a tough win, Triple H and Shawn Michaels were then victims of a heel turn, with the Brothers of Destruction turning on them, resulting in an epic tag team match between four of the most decorated superstars in WWE history at WWE Crown Jewel.

While such a move to pair Kane and the Undertaker was no more than a publicity stunt, the segments were nostalgic and were truly awe-inspiring. Whether we will see another Brothers of Destruction reunion is something WWE Creative might open in the near future with Royal Rumble fastly approaching us.

#4 The Shield

The Shield might just be the most fearsome and talented groups of all time, with them wrecking havoc before disbanding in 2014. Since then, all of them have achieved considerable success with all three of them completing the Grand Slam of holding all championships. The group briefly reunited in 2017 before Dean Ambrose got injured.

With Roman Reigns being newly crowned Universal Champion, Braun Strowman decided to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on the Aug. 20 episode of Raw. Just as the announcement was made, familiar music hit the arena. As the music played, out came Rollins and Ambrose, just like the old days. They performed the triple powerbomb on Braun Strowman and prevented him from cashing in his MITB contract.

They went on to feud against the trio of Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler until Roman Reigns relinquished his title due to his leukemia diagnosis. Another short reunion was over for the WWE fans but was totally worth all the hype and efforts.

#5 Evolution

The most decorated stable of all time, Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista hold more than 30 World Championship reigns between them. With that being said, the WWE Universe was treated to a visual spectacle with all four Evolution members in the ring for the 1000th episode of Smackdown!

The segment was very intense, with Randy Orton cutting a promo on how he withstood the storm and was still standing as the best among them. In the end we even got to witness a tease of Triple H vs. Batista with the Animal claiming that Triple H had done everything in the business except - wait for it - BEAT HIM!

This was by far the most entertaining segment of SD 1000 with Batista even joking around with the Nature Boy Ric Flair about his lifestyle. These are exactly the moments that draw the people's attention and leave them wanting and craving for more reunions.
