Daniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ Styles - WWE Championship match

Bryan left the ring as the fight began, twice, hesitating to engage. He finally entered the ring and AJ took him on straight away with a barrage of attacks. Bryan soon took control with his own series of attacks and took advantage of painful submissions to wear down Styles.

AJ got back in control and hit a neck breaker but Bryan hit a suplex of his own. Styles hit a huge Pele kick and a forearm before trying for the finisher but Bryan reversed it. AJ then locked in the calf crusher and Bryan was writhing in pain. AJ lost his grip and Bryan locked in the Yes Lock. Both men hit huge kicks, taking each other out.

Styles hit a springboard 450 for a near fall and then locked in the calf crusher but the champ found the ropes. After a little back and forth, AJ was rolled up by Bryan for a fluke victory and Daniel Bryan retained his title.

Result: Daniel Bryan def. AJ Styles to retain the WWE Championship
