Matt Hardy’s run as the heel TNA World Heavyweight Champion came to an unforeseen end after Drew Galloway cashed in his feast or fired briefcase to capture the TNA World Championship at the semi-live Impact Wrestling tapings from Orlando.
It all started with a triple threat match between Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy and Ethan Carter III going at it with the title on the line. The match ascended into complete chaos, and in the dying stages, Drew come out to hit the Future shock DDT to pick up the win. This title win would mean a lot to Drew as it would be his first run with the TNA title ever since jumping ship from the WWE.

Galloway was always seen as a main event talent in TNA and it was only a matter of time before he was handed the belt and given a healthy run with it. Hopefully, TNA books Galloway with a solid reign and stays true to the calibre and talent that he possess – something that the WWE dropped he ball on.
