Top 5 WWE memes of the week

Prepare yourself for a dose of laughter

The boom in social media has helped the enthusiastic fans to post their thoughts on any wrestling show. And what with the WWE being one of the top wrestling promotions, its weekly shows result in thousands of these posts.

Several memes, videos, gifs can be found on these platforms which often indicates the displeasure of the fans over the current product or their admiration.

Today, we present to you, 5 of the best fan-made memes of the week stating the remarks of the WWE Universe.

#5 When the Universal Championship made his debut

As SmackDown got the WWE Championship, RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and General manager Mick Foley brought in a new title for the red brand. The first match for this newly created Universal Championship was contested between Finn Balor and Seth Rollins at WWE Summerslam.

Prior to the match, the belt was unveiled to the WWE Universe. The reception was not as expected.

The design being very similar to that of WWE and Women’s Championship, resulted in a lot of negative feedback. Numerous memes were made to mock the design. But, this meme makes it to our list as it highlights the exact reaction of the live audience.

#4 Who is Talking Smack?

This week’s Smackdown again delivered an enjoyable show. But post-Smackdown, Talking Smack generated more buzz. In one of the segments, current Intercontinental Champion, The Miz, got infuriated when the General manager Daniel Bryan claimed that he wrestled like a coward.

The Miz, as we know by now, went gung-ho on the former World Champion. As The Miz started to question Bryan’s retirement, stepping to him, the host, Renee Young, tried to stop him by uttering “That’s not what this show is about”.

Well, isn’t it called Talking Smack for a reason?

#3 The new trendsetting hashtag

John Cena made his return to WWE in the Memorial Day edition of RAW. AJ Styles interrupted and eventually joined hands with The Club to attack the Franchise boy. In the following weeks, Styles claimed that his ultimate goal was to “#BeatupJohnCena”.

This rivalry between two of the all-time great performers culminated at Summerslam, with AJ standing victorious.

In the latest episode of SmackDown, the former Divas Champion Nikki Bella made her return to the blue brand. She was viciously attacked by her scheduled opponent, Carmella, whose actions were pretty similar to that of AJ Styles.

This sudden change in the attitude of Carmella generated the new “#BeatupNikkiBella”.

#2 Rebuilding the Roman Empire?

With Roman Reigns violating the Talent Wellness Policy, several changes had to be made in the creative plans. As a punishment, the former World Champion was kept out of the main Championship picture for several months.

The first ever WWE Universal Champion, Finn Balor was chosen to replace Reigns in the main feud of the red brand. Unfortunately, Balor got injured and will be out of action for an estimated period of six months.

In this situation, WWE may not have another option but to bring back Reigns to the top slot of RAW.

#1 Rollins may help The Miz

As mentioned earlier, this week’s edition of Talking Smack had a lot of smack talk. The Miz couldn’t accept that he ‘wrestles like a coward’. The Intercontinental Champion pointed out that he has been a constant in the main roster of the company for nearly ten years and never been out of action due to injury.

Recently, Seth Rollins has attracted a lot of negative reactions for his apparently carefree style. The former World Champion has been accused of being an ‘unsafe wrestler to work with’ after Sting, John Cena and now Finn Balor have gotten injured during matches with him.

Combining these two plots, the best Meme of this week indicates that someday in the future, it will be The Man himself who helps The Miz to get injured.
