WWE top 5 rumors of the week and analysis: 12 July, 2015

Kurt Angle

Paul Heyman and Brock LesnarThe rumor mill was buzzing last week as usual and played host to some interesting speculation. WWE’s future and the planned angles were the main talking point without much surprise but TNA’s move to stay relevant also caught the eye of some fans. The promotion has been trying desperately to keep their name in the map. If the rumors end up being true, then they might be successful in this as well.Elsewhere, Undertaker’s WrestleMania opponent was taken to a different level this week. A big new name was introduced and it could give us an excellent match. Changes in the Divas Division and the possible ending to Battleground main event were the other rumors, so without more introductions, here is a breakdown.

#5 TNA having a big invasion angle

Kurt Angle

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

TNA is looking to pull off a big invasion angle with Jeff Jarrett’s new promotion GFW. The invasion angle involving these two companies is all set to happen at the next television tapings of TNA and we might get to see an all-out war where Kayfabe will be blurred. Jeff Jarrett’s intentions of getting on national television might be the reason behind this agreement.

TNA had earlier approached Ring of Honor to do something similar. However, ROH was not happy with the proposal and refused. But if TNA manages to convince ROH in time for the tapings, then we could have a three promotion event under the TNA banner. Now, that is something WWE needs to worry about.

#4 Big debuts set for next week

Second time lucky for Charlotte?

The WWE fans will probably get treated with two new debuts next week. Both Charlotte and Sasha Banks are scheduled for Raw and SmackDown. There is no news on how they are going to be used in the show but if things go according to the flow, then we might see these two align with Paige in the war against Bella Twins and Alicia Fox.

Sasha and Charlotte are apparently scheduled for SummerSlam as well. Although a six women tag team match would be the most sensible option, WWE might go for another Divas title match between Paige and Nikki Bella with the other divas ringside. For all these to happen, these two should make their debut first.

#3 Plans for Eva Marie Delayed

Total Divas First

As mentioned a couple of months back, WWE and Vince McMahon are sky-high on Eva Marie. The company is eager to push her to the top but the plans are delayed a bit. Earlier, WWE wanted to push Eva Marie in time for this year’s SummerSlam, but they have changed the route.

The current idea is to use Total Divas to give Eva Marie a different image. They are looking to project as a hard working diva who trained restlessly to learn wrestling. The actual in-ring return might be pushed till the Total Divas Finale, but Eva is expected to feature in NXT till the time. It would be interesting to see how Eva adapts as she has a lot of heat to shake off.

#2 Undertaker\'s opponent at WrestleMania 32

Undertaker’s future opponent?

We are one week closer to WrestleMania 32 and the rumors about Undertaker’s possible opponent are making headlines. The latest name to come into the fold is that of Kevin Owens. Owens is pretty hot with the fans right now and has impressed the WWE personnel as well. He is a big favorite to face Taker next year but then again, it would depend on how he carries the momentum forward.

If Owens is able to keep up the good work and is booked properly, a match with Undertaker at WrestleMania will turn out to be a success story. If not, then WWE will have a tough time selling him as the opponent of a legend like The Undertaker.

#1 Seth Rollins may survive at Battleground

No title at Battleground for the beast

Most of the WWE fans are excited about seeing Seth Rollins take a trip to Suplex City at Battleground. It might or might not happen but according to the rumor mill, Lesnar is not walking out of Battleground as champion. Two possibilities are being thrown into the mix about the same. The first would be Seth Rollins get a win over Lesnar via disqualification and the second being interference from any of the top main eventer.

Sheamus is also a big possibility when it comes to the match as he has been silent so far as Mr. Money in the Bank. It’s up to WWE to choose the scenario but as far as we know, Lesnar is not going to become the WWE champion at Battleground.
