The Potential: Rusev has already expressed his dislike of SmackDown through various ways. The next obvious step would be a feud with either Daniel Bryan or Shane McMahon.

As WWE is unlikely to let Bryan wrestle again, a Rusev vs. Shane McMahon match at SummerSlam is a big possibility. Meanwhile, there are also rumours about Rusev winning the Money in the Bank. If Rusev does win the briefcase, it would make him more relevant.

The Fallout: The Rusev-Shane feud will only be triggered once Rusev makes his full-fledged return to television. And as far as the outcome of the feud goes, Shane is likely to take another defeat just like he did with AJ Styles at WrestleMania.
