WWE: Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar – Decade in the making

As most of you might remember, Lesnar climbed up the ranks and within months of his debut, won the WWE title and defeated the biggest of names in the industry, all except The Undertaker. So when WWE made them feud together, Lesnar defeated The Undertaker to retain his title, and when it was time for Brock to put The Undertaker over and repay the favor, Brock Lesnar left the WWE due to personal reasons.

It is said that The Undertaker was so upset about Lesnar’s ‘lack of respect’ that he made it mandatory for his opponents to ‘put him over’ when he does the same, although it was never actually proved. But this brings to light the personal animosity these two might have actually shared.

Brock Lesnar and the WWE were involved in a fierce legal battle after Lesnar left the company, although WWE were forced to drop the case later. In a move which proved that Vince would always put the business in front of his ego, Brock Lesnar was signed by the WWE after he quit MMA, and announced his retirement to the UFC President, Dana White.

With the return of Brock Lesnar, a lot of people anticipated a Lesnar-Taker confrontation. With the WWE now running out of opponents for The Undertaker at WrestleMania, there have been talks of Lesnar taking on The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30. There were talks of a Taker-Lesnar match before as well, when The Undertaker attended Lesnar’s last UFC fight at UFC 121 in 2010.

The video went viral and it sent the wrestling fans and the MMA fans into a deep frenzy, and a speculation began that Brock Lesnar would be involved at the next WrestleMania in some capacity, or would take on The Undertaker after his rivalry with Shawn Michaels ended, although that never happened.

So after a decade, The Undertaker finally has a chance to put his demons to rest. There has been one superstar in the history of the WWE that dominated The Undertaker, and defeated him at his own game, and now, The Undertaker can get his shot at redemption by beating Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

With WWE’s attempt of signing Sting now looking unrealistic as it has happened before, the Lesnar-Undertaker match is almost a lock for the next year’s extravaganza. One can only wait and see how things turn out, but if it does happen, you can expect yet another classic confrontation between two of the biggest names in sports entertainment!
