WWE Weekly Highlights - Hits and Flops of the week

After a lukewarm showing at Night of Champions, WWE had a lot to make up to last week.

Though the PPV wasn’t very bad, there were a few decisions made by the company that had people scratching their head all over, trying to understand the reason behind it.

The week featured a lot of interesting developments with WWE trying to explain the reason behind most of the decisions at NOC. Anyway, it brought out some great episodes of both RAW and SmackDown.

Here are the top hits and flops of the week gone by:

Hits:

Daniel Bryan

1. Daniel Bryan finally finds help from the roster

The faces on RAW after watching Daniel Bryan getting manhandled for weeks, finally had enough and came out to save him from the Shield and Orton.

Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns had a great match on the main event and frankly, Reigns has improved a great deal as a wrestler. All the faces like Prime Time Players, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston and Zack Ryder came out to make the save.

2. Improved tag team action

The tag team division is on a high right now, and both the Tag Team Turmoil match and the elimination tag match on RAW was pretty impressive.

It is good to see the way the tag team division has evolved and receiving so much support. It would be great to see The Usos now fight for the title against the Shield, though they might still face a stiff challenge from the Prime Time Players.

3. Ryback is Heyman’s latest client

After Ryback’s attack on Punk at NOC, Heyman cut a great promo on both RAW and SmackDown, putting over Ryback pretty well.

Heyman’s time with Ryback will help Ryback gain a lot of relevance at a time when he was failing to gain a steady character. Let’s hope Ryback manages to keep things steady in the ring with Punk to help escalate his career better.

Flops

1. The Real Americans losing to Santino Marella

After Marella’s return to RAW, he beat both Cesaro and Swagger, which is a sad thing to say the least. Though I am happy with him returning, seeing him beat heels who are steadily trying to gain some credence is completely ridiculous.

Plus, there is a need for a good heel tag team at the moment and making the Real Americans lose to the likes of Santino will only hurt their image as a believable heel team.

2. Damien Sandow weakest MITB holder

Damien Sandow

Almost all MITB briefcase holders were booked weak till they cashed in and Sandow’s recent losses were considered to be that.

But his loss this week against RVD in two minutes showed just how less WWE cares about keeping Sandow as a threat to the World Title. Sandow needs to be involved in matches that show some ability and credibility as a future World Title holder.

3. Fandango needs to be repackaged

Fandango, after beating Jericho on RAW has now been reduced to the extent of losing to Miz at Night of Champions.

The once interesting character has become far too stale for people to consider him worthy of entertainment. Either WWE has to give him a new direction or his character needs to be repackaged.
