WWE are hyping up a third teammate for Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, in their ongoing feud with Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Braun Strowman. They aren’t necessarily calling it a new version of the Shield, but a 3 on 3 is expected for the PPV.
The obvious rumor is that it will be former Wyatt family member Erick Rowan, however, he is currently dealing with a torn bicep and might not be cleared to wrestle.
WWE.com reports:
“Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns are two tough fellas. Yet the ever-expanding Wyatt Family seems to have simply overpowered the former Hounds of Justice thanks to the addition of mobile mountain Braun Strowman. The Black Sheep singlehandedly tore both Ambrose and Reigns to pieces, which means they’ve got their work cut out for them if they’re ever going to beat back the Wyatts again. Given that their relationship with their former third man is, erm, strained at the moment, will they be able to find an equalizer to level the playing field against The New Face of Fear?”

The 3 on 3 tag team match was made official on SmackDown this week after Bray Wyatt stating that it is his game and they should play at Night Of Champions. The build up to the PPV would now be interesting to watch as it is not known who and when that third person to join Ambrose and Reigns would come. Although it is just a two on three matchup at the moment, the playing field will be leveled for sure in the coming weeks.
It will be great to see Erick Rowan on their side, but it would be even greater if the WWE surprises us and involves someone like Samoa Joe into the picture which would make the program a must watch with the talent involved. Who would you like to see join Ambrose and Reigns?
