What’s the story?
Despite small hints put out by WWE, Dave Meltzer reports that The Rock is unlikely to make an appearance at this year’s Wrestlemania.
In case you didn’t know...
The Rock is arguably the most beloved WWE Superstar of all time. ‘The People’s Champ’ has gone out of his way to make appearances at WrestleMania in the past few years, despite his busy Hollywood schedule. He most recently had a surprise match last year against Erick Rowan which he won in six seconds.
The heart of the matter:
Dave Meltzer said that The Rock isn’t expected to make an appearance at WrestleMania because of his commitments to the latest Fast and the Furious movie. However, Meltzer also said that the Rock has worked around similar situations in the past to appear at the Show of Shows.
What’s next?
The return of former stars such as The Rock, Hulk Hogan, and Shawn Michaels is always a part of the huge attraction that is WrestleMania. The Rock certainly adds an extra dimension to the show with his witty antics and ability to wield a microphone.

He is also extremely loyal to the WWE and its fans, so it won’t be much of a surprise if The Rock finds a way to make an appearance at WrestleMania.
Author’s take:
It’s always great to see The Rock make his annual appearance at Wrestlemania, but it wouldn’t be terrible if he missed one year. The Rock has done an incredible amount for the professional wrestling business, and he is always extremely proud to discuss his tenure in the WWE and how it propelled to Hollywood stardom. If The Rock does make the show, then great. If he doesn't, the show must still go on.
