Fatal 4-Way: SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs Ricochet & Aleister Black vs The Bar vs Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura
The Usos were the victims of their own class and kindness when they forfeited a match against The New Day two weeks ago. Like many wrestling fans, The Usos wholeheartedly believed that Kofi Kingston deserved an opportunity against Daniel Bryan and that the corporate machine that is WWE has held Kingston down for far too long, so they did the right thing. Following one's moral compass; however, isn't always a wise career move, especially in the world of professional wrestling.
Last week on SmackDown Live, WrestleMania 35 host Alexa Bliss announced that The Usos would be penalized for their earlier forfeiture and have to defend their SmackDown Tag Team Championships against three other teams: Ricochet & Aleister Black, The Bar, and Rusev & Shinsuke Nakamura.
The Bar will be The Usos toughest competition here, as they have chemistry, experience, and championship history. Rusev & Nakamura are fantastic singles competitors, but simply lack the chemistry to be taken seriously against teams like The Usos or The Bar. Similarly, Aleister Black and Ricochet are superb competitors and have a good chance to be the future of WrestleMania for years to come, but have been thrown together as a team and are not serious contenders.
While one may argue that The Usos have been cheated in this scenario, such manipulation will backfire against WWE's front office. The Fatal 4-Way will only serve to motivate the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, making them all the more dangerous. As Jimmy Uso recently promised, "We are gonna walk in as tag team champions and we are gonna leave as tag team champions."
