#4 It has given Edge more freedom with his character heading into WrestleMania
The Universal Championship match at WrestleMania will be Edge's first proper match in front of a full crowd since his Royal Rumble return last year. While the addition of Daniel Bryan has certainly eased the burden on him heading into the event, it has allowed him to flourish as a character.
The Rated-R Superstar remained a babyface during his entire comeback, up until this week. The WWE Hall of Famer has always been more comfortable as a heel but the timing did not seem right for him to turn, considering he had been out of the ring for nine years.
A singles match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania would have forced him to remain a good guy for a while longer. But adding Bryan to the mix has shifted the alignments a little bit. Edge's promos veered towards the heelish side in the build-up to Fastlane.
Bryan is the clearly defined babyface while Reigns obviously is the heel. Edge could walk the line between the two during this feud, although it now seems that he has fully turned heel. The 11-time world champion is infinitely better in this role, as we have seen in the past few weeks, and will continue to see as WrestleMania approaches.
