- The Purple Cap of IPL 2024 season will be awarded to the highest wicket-taker of the IPL 2024.
- The bowler with the most wickets in the tournament during the season is allowed to wear the Cap in the field.
- The bowler with the better economy rate receives the Purple Cap in the instance of a tie.
- If a situation occurs in which an opposition bowler took the most wickets during the innings then the previous bowler will be allowed to retain the Purple Cap until the match is over and then hand it over to the new most wicket taker.
