Formula 1 is finally back in Las Vegas! The fans in Las Vegas had to wait for over 4 decades to witness the pinnacle of motorsports return to ‘The Entertainment Capital of the World.’ With the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix upon us, let us delve deeper and learn about the details related to the event.


Las Vegas Grand Prix History

The return of Formula 1 to Las Vegas in 2023, officially under the name Las Vegas Grand Prix, will be the 1,100th F1 Grand Prix overall. The last F1 event that happened in Vegas was the 1982 Caesars Palace Grand Prix. The Las Vegas Grand Prix will also be the third and final race to happen in the United States (the other two being Miami and the US Grand Prix). It will also be the first occasion since 1982 when 3 F1 races were held in the United States in a Formula One calendar year.



2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix Schedule and Practice Sessions

The 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix is scheduled to have three free practice sessions for the 10 teams to get familiarity with the circuit. The first practice session begins on 16th November 2023 at 20:30 local time. The second and third practice sessions will be held on 17th November at 00:00 and 20:30 local time respectively. The Grand Prix itself is scheduled to start on 18th November 2023 at 20:30 local time.



2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix Venue

The venue for Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Prix 2023 will be the Las Vegas Strip Circuit in Paradise, Nevada, United States, which is supposed to be a street circuit of 6.201km (3.853 miles). The race is scheduled for 50 laps which makes the scheduled distance 310.050km (192.656 miles).



2023 Formula One Championship Standing

The 2023 Formula One Championship standing before the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix has Max Verstappen leading the driver’s championship with a staggering 524 points. Verstappen has won the championship already and has 17 wins coming into the race. He is followed by his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez, who is at 258 points. Perez would love to extend his lead over the Mercedes talisman Lewis Hamilton who is still in contention for finishing second in the drivers championship with 226 points.
