He made his professional club debut in the 2008-09 season and played a key part in the team’s promotion to La Liga.

The midfielder kept improving as he became one of the most used players by Real Zaragoza over the next two years. His presence on the field ensured that the team maintained its top flight status in 2009-10 season.

Debut

Ander Herrera received his first senior cap on 15th November 2016 against England at Wembley. Herrera came in the field in the second half as a substitute and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Earlier, Herrera had represented the Spain U20 and U21 side. He was a part of the squad that won the 2009 Mediterranean Games. In the 2011 European Championship, Herrera netted two goals which saw Spain winning the coveted title.

The midfielder signed for Manchester United in 2014 and has made 103 appearances since then and has scored 10 goals.

Rise to Glory

Herrera has often been compared to former United Legend Paul Scholes due to his style of play. He is considered to be the best signing for Manchester United in the 2014 Summer transfer window.

The Spaniard became an integral part of the United midfield by 2016. He was scoring goals and providing a good link between the back line and forwards. Herrera played a key role in the 2016 FA Cup that was won by Manchester United who beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in the finals.
