Early Life and Career


Lauren Murphy was born on December 8, 1983, in Anchorage, Alaska. She went to nursing school, but she dropped out to focus on mixed martial arts. Murphy began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the age of 23 and later transitioned to MMA. She made her professional debut in 2010, competing primarily in regional promotions in the United States. In 2013, she signed with Invicta FC and won the bantamweight title in her second fight with the promotion.

Murphy made her first appearance in Invicta FC as a substitute fighter against Kaitlin Young on April 5, 2013 at Invicta FC 5: Penne vs. Waterson. She emerged victorious by winning the unanimous decision.
