Leon Osman: A Brief Biography

Leon Osman is an English football player who plays for Everton in the Premier League and the England national football team. He has spent most of his professional career as an Everton player, though he has spent time on loan at Carlisle United and Derby County. He joined the Everton Academy and was part of the team that won the 1998 FA Youth Cup. Osman was loaned to Carlisle United in October 2002, where he scored once in the league against Macclesfield Town and was awarded Player of the Year by the club. He was granted a one year extension to his Everton contract in the summer of 2003. During the 2004 season, he was again loaned out to Derby Country. Osman became a first team regular in 2004–05; finishing the season with seven goals including two in a game against Aston Villa. Osman scored his first goal in a UEFA competition in October 2007, Everton\'s second in a 3–1 UEFA Cup Group Stage win over Greek club Larissa at Goodison Park. Osman was named man of the match in two successive games in April 2010 and finished the 2010–11 season with four goals.
