WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray believes that former AEW stars Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy should have one final run with the Stamford-based promotion before they walk into the sunset. The legendary tag team recently parted ways with All Elite Wrestling.
While Matt Hardy's contract expired in April 2024, The Charismatic Enigma became a free agent earlier this month. The duo is currently working for Total Nonstop Acting Wrestling (TNA) as free agents. Notably, Matt recently revealed that he wanted The Hardy Boyz to have one final run in the Sports Entertainment juggernaut before their possible induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
During a recent edition of the Busted Open Radio podcast, Bully Ray said that The Hardy Boyz ''need to end their career in the company (WWE) that created them!'' before their eventual induction into the Hall of Fame.
“I would venture to say that the Hardys need to end their career in the company that created them [WWE]. I’d like to see Matt and Jeff in the WWE one day, retire there, and then go into the Hall of Fame,” he said. [H/T: ewrestlingnews]

Matt Hardy explains the reason for his dissatisfaction with AEW
Matt Hardy recently spoke about being unhappy during his stint in AEW. Speaking on his Extreme Life podcast, the former ECW Champion discussed the reasons that forced him to say goodbye to Tony Khan's company. Matt's AEW contract expired in April 2024, and he chose not to re-sign.
The former AEW star said that everything was going fine in the Jacksonville-based promotion until his brother, Jeff, messed up, and he didn't blame the company for it. However, after Jeff returned, Tony Khan didn't book The Hardy Boyz to win a tag team match on TV for a long time, which left him frustrated.
"But just after Jeff came back, we didn’t win any tag team matches for a year. It’s crazy. We’re The Hardys; we didn’t win a tag team match on TV in a year. And I mean, I brought this point up, like, ‘What are we doing? Like, we need you [Tony Khan] just to give us a win. We don’t need to be the champions; we don’t need to be undefeated. But just like, we need a win at some point!’ And it was just very frustrating," he said.
The Sensei of Mattitude was in AEW for around four years (from 2020 to 2024). The Charismatic Enigma, on the other hand, spent a couple of years in Tony Khan's company. He joined in 2022 and left in 2024. It will be interesting to see if the legendary tag team returns to WWE in the coming days.
