A General Manager may have hinted that Matt and Jeff Hardy are to join a popular promotion. The name being discussed is Matt Cardona.
Cardona got injured earlier this year and is currently the General Manager of GCW. The former Zack Ryder worked in WWE for over 15 years before being released in 2020. Since then, he has taken over the independent scenes by storm. The Indy God also appeared in AEW a handful of times, with his last match in the company taking place in March 2024 against Adam Copeland on Collision.
The Hardy Boys joined AEW during the pandemic era and were a quick hit. However, the duo was later underutilized due to a massive roster, and they were upset with their booking. On June 14, 2024, Jeff Hardy shocked the world when he returned to TNA after seven years, exiting the Jacksonville-based promotion. Matt Hardy became a free agent in April and is currently performing in TNA. It is also reported that the brothers are free agents.
On Twitter, Matt Cardona commented on The Hardy Boys' free agency. He said he is "THE agent," teasing their signing to GCW.
"They may be FREE agents, but I’m THE agent." Cardona shared.
Jeff Hardy broke his silence after AEW exit
The Charismatic Enigma didn't renew his AEW contract and appeared on TNA's Against All Odds event.
While speaking with Muscle Memory, Jeff Hardy said that his contract with the Jacksonville-based promotion is over, and he is excited about the future.
"I am cleared to wrestle again with a broken-nose mask. But my deal with AEW is pretty close to being deleted, so to speak. So we'll see what happens, man. I'm excited to see where I go from here," said Jeff.
It will be interesting to see what is next for the Hardy Boys and whether Cardona can actually sign them to GCW.
