A popular AEW star who made her debut for the company earlier this year has been absent from TV for a while. Amid her absence, Mariah May sent her an emotional message

Mina Shirakawa and Mariah May's friendship dates back to their days in the Japanese promotion STARDOM. During this time, they were part of the faction Club Venus.

Their bond grew stronger with time, and they achieved notable success together by winning the Goddesses of Stardom Championship, which they held for 49 days. When Mariah left STARDOM for All Elite Wrestling, Mina Shirakawa followed in her friend's footsteps.

She showed up on the April 10th episode of Dynamite and saved Mariah from an attack by Anna Jay. Following this, she planted a kiss on her friend. She even challenged Mariah's former mentor, Toni Storm, for the AEW Women's World Championship at Forbidden Door. Following this match, Mina also formed a friendship with Storm.

Even after Mariah betrayed Toni Storm, Mina remained in her good graces. They even teamed together on October 2 at Stardom Nighter in Korakuen against Hanan, Mayu Iwatani, and Saya Ida. However, Mina hasn't been seen on AEW programming for almost three months.

Recently, the company has aired video packages of the Japanese star indicating she is returning to the promotion. In the midst of this all, Mariah May took to social media to send an emotional message to her close friend.

"need u @MinaShirakawa…"

When was Mina Shirakawa's last match in AEW?

When Mina Shirakawa arrived in the Jacksonville-based promotion, she was involved in a major storyline with Toni Storm, where both were seemingly competing for Mariah May's affection.

Shirakawa made her in-ring debut for the company on the April 24 episode of Dynamite against Anna Jay, and after just three matches, she challenged Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship at Forbidden Door, where she lost.

Following this defeat, Mina wasn't featured as prominently and wrestled two more matches, with her last match coming on the August 28 episode of Rampage against Missa Kate.
